Great Speeches

This collection of Ingersoll speeches by a Chicago publisher was one of many unauthorized editions. Today we would call them “bootleg” editions. Unscrupulous publishers would often hire stenographers to attend Ingersoll lectures and copy down his words. The only authorized editions of Ingersoll lectures were published by C. P. Farrell (Ingersoll’s brother in law) in New York City. Authoritative versions of most lectures appeared just after Ingersoll’s death in the 12-volume Works of Robert G. Ingersoll.
